Hello friends,
I'm in Korea! So far, the trip has been tiring but wonderful! I left Columbus (sadly saying goodbye to my lovely mother who took 10 pounds of sweaters from me to make my bags fit) at 4:30pm, and got to LAX at 6:30pm their time.
Because we are professional long distance best friends, Grace came to the airport to meet me so we shared quedillas and snapchats before I went to meet the other Fulbrighters at the gate to Korea.
After 12 kind of horrible plane hours, (except for the moments mentioned below) we arrvied at 5am Korea time.
Now I'm moved into a dorm room with a shower/sink/toilet combo (Julie and Jack everyone does it here) and just enjoyed my first Korean lunch.
Tomorrow we've got a Korean language placement test (though I think we all know where I'll end up) and then our first culture and language workshops.
Thanks again for all the good wishes, I can't wait to see what's next!
Grace+Maeve in LAX:

We decided to move in temporarily.

A huge spread about Brooklyn in the Asiana Airline in-flight magazine!

With a page on Bushwick!!!! A little bit of home with me on the way!

It turns out that your flight attendant might start doing magic tricks during the flight.

First Korean meal! I was pleasently surprised with the cafeteria food!

This is not a mirror selfie. This is my shower/sink/bathroom

Jungwon University where I'll be until the end of August!

Miss everyone already! (Insert Korean goodbye phrase here)
